Balki sired one foal, Belles Noelle, before he was gelded and began his career in Civil War Re-enactments.  The photo above left was taken in October 2001 at a re-enactment of the Battle of Cane Hill north of Bentonville, Arkansas
The photo at right was taken when Balki was 3 days old.
Balki was described by his current owner as the "perfect war horse" and "the center of attention by horse lovers attending the events."  Most recently, "He gets better looking each year."
In June 2001 Balki gained new experience playing Polo in Oklahoma and, according to Col. Prater, he did quite well indeed.
Balki's daughter produced 4  foals at WrightHorse in Neosho MO.  She was euthanized Nov. 7, 2001 after suffering a broken hind leg in a pasture incident.  She was carrying her 5th foal at that time.
His dam, Romars Sunray, and three of her daughters, (two of which are full sisters to Balki) are still very much a part of WrightHorse.  Click here to see them.
His grandson, Jonas Nightingale and grand-daughter, Baldy's Valentine, are still at his birthplace.  Another grand-daughter, RockABye Belle, is in Clayton Delaware where she has been shown in PHBA & Open Halter competition and will begin training to be shown in Western Pleasure.  Another grandson, Baron Skip Siemon is now living in New Mexico.
